Our Church
Calvary Temple was founded on May 1, 2003 by Dr. Willie R. Willis and First Lady Trina Willis. Calvary’s existence was divinely spoken from God to Pastor Willis, as he established this church in the Creek Crossing community at 1401 Clay Mathis Rd. in Mesquite, TX.
We have nine acres with two campuses. Our original worship facility now serves as our Youth & Special Events Center. Today, our worship services are conducted at our new facility that is located on adjoining property. We have completed the first two phases of a three part vision that God has given to our Pastor and First Lady. We are now entering into phase three, which is to build a larger sanctuary and add a community gymnasium.
This vision will make it possible to reach beyond the walls of Calvary Temple to capture both young and old alike and to offer programs that are essential to building strong homes and fulfilled lives.

Dr. W.R. Willis, Pastor
Dr. Willis is the Pastor and founder of the Calvary Temple Community Church in Mesquite, Texas. He is one of the most profound Bible teachers of this time; his messages are always full of truth, anointing and wisdom. Pastor Willis has studied at the Criswell College and Southern Bible Institute in Dallas. He received his Master’s and Doctorate in Theology from the Trinity Valley Baptist Seminary and College. Dr. Willis is an instructor at his alma mater and is a business owner as well. He is a husband, father and grandfather. Pastor Willis takes the time to make the messages as simple and full of the spirit as possible so that ALL may hear and understand what is being taught. Pastor Willis is a very humble servant of God and is sold out for the cause of Christ. The word of God says “how can we hear without a preacher and how can he preach except he be sent” (Romans 10:14, 15). God has sent Pastor Willis to Calvary Temple with a powerful and anointed word of Faith and Hope. Remember Romans 10:17 says “So Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God”. It’s very important to hear the Word of God in its truth and to get an understanding. It’s Pastor’s belief that God has great things in store for Calvary Temple Community Church and the surrounding community, as well as the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
1st Lady Dr. Trina D. Willis is the Co-Founder of the Calvary Temple Community Church in Mesquite, TX, where her husband, Dr. W.R. Willis is Pastor and Founder. She is the owner of the Trina D. Willis Christian Counseling Center located in Mesquite, TX. She is a native of Texas and is a motivational speaker and teacher of Women both locally and abroad. She holds a Master’s Degree in Christian Education from the Trinity Valley Baptist Seminary and College. She earned her Ph.D from the Cornerstone University in Lake Charles, Louisiana and is a Professional Licensed Christian Counselor and Certified Temperament Therapist. She holds Advanced Certifications in the areas of Marriage & Family; Death and Grief; and Child and Adolescent Therapy. Working in the ministry is Sister Willis’ life. She has a heart for God and His people. She is a born again believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for over 25 years. Sister Willis is the Director of Women’s Ministry, the Choir Director and the Church Administrator. She is the mother of 2 beautiful daughters and a proud grandmother. Sister Willis is sold out for the cause of Christ and gives all praises and honor to Him. She was delivered from breast cancer in 2005, through which God has given her a strong and powerful testimony to encourage and motivate women everywhere. She is the founder of the “Sister’s Sharing the Hope Foundation”, a foundation created to take breast cancer awareness to the underserved communities all over the world. She continues to draw her strength from Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.” She strives to do all that she can for the up-building of God’s Kingdom and considers it a great honor to serve whenever and wherever God presents an opportunity.
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, supernaturally inspired; that it is inerrant in the original manuscripts and preserved by God in its verbal, complete inspiration; and that it is a divinely authoritive standard for every age and every life.
We believe that salvation is the gift of God's grace. It cannot be gained or made more secure by meritorious works, but freely bestowed upon all who put their faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary. All who trust in the Savior are forgiven of their sins and born into the family of God by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit. (John1:12; Acts 16:30-33; Romans 10:9, 10;Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-9)
We believe in the ordinance of water baptism by immersion in obedience to the Word of God. Water baptism does not save us from sin but is an outward sign of an inward relationship with God. Holy Communion is an ordinance that reminds us that His blood offer forgiveness for sin and that His body was broken for our healing. (Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12)
We believe that the Godhead exists eternally in three persons Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and that these three are one God. We believe that God is absolute and sole creator of the universe and that creation was by divine command. We believe that God, by His sovereign choice and out of love for men, sent Christ into the world to save sinners.
We believe that every man is the steward of his life and resources which ultimately belongs to God. We believe that tithing is a measure of obedience to the scriptural principles of stewardship.
We believe that every true Christian is to be a dynamic part of a local church since this is God's primary context for spiritual development and community impact.
We believe in the rapture, that the dead in Christ will rise first, and those who are alive and remain shall be caught up to meet Jesus in the air.
In the New Testament, the local church is a group of baptized believers. We invite you to become a member of the Calvary Temple Community Church Family.
